  1. Helsingor and Kronborg Castle

    Helsingor is a charming village that is located along the narrowest point between Denmark and Sweden. You can take a half hour ferry ride over to Helsingborg in Sweden! The other draw to this area is the Kronborg Castle, which was the inspiration for Elsinore Castle in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

  2. Louisiana Museum

    The Louisiana Museum is an extraordinary seaside art museum that is about a half hour train ride north of Copenhagen. Not only is there amazing art, but it has a whole wing dedicated to kids and helping them create art. It also has an amazing sculpture garden.

  3. Tivoli

    One of the most famous places in Copenhagen is Tivoli! It is was first opened in 1843 and located in the city center. It has fun amusement rides, including a 100-year old roller coaster,  flower gardens, food, carnival games, fireworks, and music shows.

  4. Ørstedsparken

    Ørstedsparken is a public park in central Copenhagen. It is located on an old fortification ring that was decommissioned in the 1870s. Some of these old parts of the fortification. A section that was once a moat is now a lake. The park is gorgeous and there are two very popular playgrounds here. Ørstedparken was named after the Danish physicist who discovered electromagnetism: Hans Christian Oersted.

  5. Rosenberg Castle

    Rosenberg Castle is located in central Copenhagen. It was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV, in the early 17th century. The main attractions here are the the Knights’ Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. Or you can enjoy a picnic in the beautiful grounds outside.

  6. The Round Tower

    The Round Tower is located in Copenhagen. It was built in the 1600s as a tower and observatory. It is the oldest functioning observatory in Europe. The observatory is mainly used by amateur astronomers and many visitors. The observatory is encircled by an outdoor platform from which you have a magnificent view of the old part of Copenhagen.

  7. Aarhus

    Aarhus is a city that is located on the Jutland peninsula’s east coast. There is so much to see here! There is the old town open-air museum, Den Gamle By, that has centuries-old timbered houses. There is also the ARoS art museum. And nearby is the Moesgaard Museum, which is dedicated to archaeology and ethnography. You can also explore the beautiful greenhouses of the Aarhus Botanical Garden.

  8. Legoland

    In central Jutland is Billund where Legos were invented! Here you can go play at Legoland. Also be sure to visit the Lego House. It is an an amazing building that looks like it is made out of giant colorful Lego bricks! Even if Lego are not your favorite toy, this is a very fun place for people of all ages to visit.

  9. Egeskov Castle

    Egeskov Castle is located on the southern part of Funen. This is a living castle (which means people still live here) with lots of fun family-friendly activities. The castle is circled by a moat and surrounded by beautiful gardens. There are play areas, museums, a treetop walk, maze and old-fashioned games. You are encouraged to have a picnic here! This castle is close to Odense, where Hans Christian Andersen was born.

  10. Skagen

    Skagen is a port town at the north end of Denmark’s Jutland peninsula. It is the northernmost point in Denmark! Grenen is the northernmost beach in this northernmost town. It is a long sandy beach and is the location where two seas meet - the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. There more to do here beside play on the beach. Go to Eagle World to watch eagles soaring.
